A few years ago, my car broke down. The timing was less than great, as my son was recovering from an illness that required treatments the health insurance would not cover. With my credit stretched to the hilt, the last thing I needed was a car payment. That's when I hit on the idea of using my bike. My bike became my way of making the ten mile round trip to work each day. I learned how to pack my work clothes in a backpack, shower and change at the health club next door, and walk into work fresh and ready to do my job. Over the next year, that riding toned my body and left me feeling better than I had in a long time. If you are facing life without a car, let's talk about bikes. I'm betting you will find them a good alternative too.
